This Roulette strategy is much like the Double Street except you are only betting on quads or corners. Pick 5 blocks of 4 numbers to place a one chip bet on. Then choose a straight number, preferably one not already covered by one of the 5 quad bets and place one more chip on this number. Double the amount of bet on green zero after every 10 trials and you would encounter zero within first 60-70 trials you would end roulette every time with a profit. I always do 70 trials on zero and double the bet after every 10 trials.
Remember to stay realistic about the long odds on this popular game of chance. Approach roulette with the sober realization that, with a house advantage of 5.26 percent on the American wheel, roulette is among the worst bets in a casino. Despite the odds, you can still use some simple strategies to stretch your roulette bankroll and enjoy the thrill of the spin. This article contains a few tips that can help you improve your chances of winning.
Roulette is a drain on your wallet simply because the game doesn’t pay what the bets are worth. With 38 numbers (1 to 36, plus 0 and 00), the true odds of hitting a single number on a straight-up bet are 37 to 1, but the house pays only 35 to 1 if you win! Ditto the payouts on the combination bets. This discrepancy is where the house gets its huge edge in roulette.
Starting with the basics
Strategy is critical if you want to increase your odds of winning. The first time you play roulette, the players sprinkling the layout with chips may look as if they’re heaping pepperoni slices on a pizza. You can make many different bets as long as you stay within the table’s maximum limits. Consequently, few players make just one bet at a time.
Of course, the more bets you make, the more complicated and challenging it is to follow all the action. Here are two possible plans of attack to simplify matters:
- Stick to the table minimum and play only the outside bets. For example, bet on either red or black for each spin. This type of outside bet pays 1 to 1 and covers 18 of the 38 possible combinations.
- Place two bets of equal amounts on two outside bets: one bet on an even-money play and the other on a column or dozen that pays 2 to 1. For example, place one bet on black and one bet on Column Three, which has eight red numbers. That way, you have 26 numbers to hit, 4 of which you cover twice. You can also make a bet on red and pair it with a bet on Column Two, which has eight black numbers. Again, you cover 26 numbers, and 4 of them have two ways to win. Pairing a bet on either red or black with Column One (or on one of the three dozens) covers 24 numbers, and 6 numbers have two ways of winning. Spreading bets like this won’t make you rich, but it does keep things interesting at the table.
Playing a European wheel
If you happen to find a single-zero European wheel, you greatly improve your odds: The house edge is half that of roulette with the American wheel — only 2.63 percent. How to win slots in pokemon fire red. You may see a European wheel at one of the posh Vegas casinos, such as Bellagio, Mirage, or Caesars Palace. If you can’t find one on the floor, it’s probably tucked away in the high-limit area along with the baccarat tables, so you may need to ask. You can also find the single-zero wheel at some other upscale casinos around the country.
Because casinos set aside the European wheel for high rollers, you’re likely to find a higher table minimum, say $25. But because the house edge is half that of a double-zero wheel, the European wheel is the better roulette game to play for bigger bettors.
Your chances of winning get even better if the casino offers an advantageous rule called en prison. Sometimes available on the European wheel, the en prison rule lowers the house edge even further to a reasonable 1.35 percent. The rule applies to even-money bets. For example, say you have a $10 bet riding on black. If the ball lands on zero, your even-money bet doesn’t win or lose but remains locked up Super casino slots. for one more spin. If the ball lands on black on the next spin, the house returns your original bet of $10, but you don’t win anything. If the ball lands on red, you lose. And if the ball repeats the zero number again, your bet stays imprisoned for another round.
The most common betting systems that players use for roulette are geared towards Red and Black, but after that it is probably the Dozens and Columns.
To cover them quickly, there are three different Dozen bets on the roulette table marked as: 1st 12, 2nd 12 and 3rd 12.
There’s also 3 Column bets marked on the table as 2 to 1. The first Column covers numbers 1 to 34, the second covers numbers 2 to 35 and the third covers numbers 3 to 36.
So in total you have 6 bets, each of which covers 12 numbers (just less than a third of the wheel), they each have the same odds of hitting on any given spin and they all have the same payout which is 2:1. So if you bet £1, you will win £3 back.

The two main strategies that you can use for the Dozens and Columns are covered on our page on the Martingale Roulette Strategy but there’s so many sequences covered there for various parts of the wheel that it can be overwhelming, so we shall cover it again here on its own.
Strategy 1 – You pick a Dozen, any of them, and you bet on it with £1 (you can scale down to 10p if you like and divide the numbers below by 10). Then if you lose, you use the following betting sequence until you win:
1 – 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 6 – 9 – 14 – 21 – 31 – 47 – 70 – 105 – 158 – 237 – 355
As long as you win on any of those numbers, you will have a small profit. The obvious downside is that if you don’t get a win within that sequence, you have a big loss on your hands. Another downside is that because you’re covering less than a third of the table, you’re going to lose a lot more bets than you win over the long term of play. Here’s a table that shows how much you’ve lost in total at each stage of the progression.
Martingale On Dozens/Columns, Starting With A Bet of 1 £/$/€ | |||
---|---|---|---|
Losses | Bet Placed (£/$/€) | Total Loss | Profit If The Bet Wins |
1 | 1 | 1 | 2 |
2 | 1 | 2 | 1 |
3 | 2 | 4 | 2 |
4 | 3 | 7 | 2 |
5 | 4 | 11 | 1 |
6 | 6 | 17 | 1 |
7 | 9 | 26 | 1 |
8 | 14 | 40 | 2 |
9 | 21 | 61 | 2 |
10 | 31 | 92 | 1 |
11 | 47 | 139 | 2 |
12 | 70 | 209 | 1 |
13 | 105 | 314 | 1 |
14 | 158 | 472 | 2 |
15 | 237 | 709 | 2 |
16 | 355 | 1064 | 1 |
As you can see, after 15 losses in a row your total loss will be £709 and your next bet will need to be £355 to cover the previous losses which is a total outlay of £1,064. Here are the odds of getting 15 spins in a row without your Dozen/Column hitting:
Casanova online, free. European Roulette: (25/37)^15 = 0.2793% – This works out at 1 in 358 chance.
American Roulette: (26/38)^15 = 0.3372% – This works out at 1 in 296 chance.
Just to give you an idea of what to expect, when playing roulette online,we have seen over 30 spins in a row without a Dozen or Column hitting and when this happens you will lose. If you test this out on any of our Free Roulette Games you will soon see a long losing run for yourself.
To get around this, people try and wait for 10 spins without a Dozen or Column hitting and then bet on it. Maybe even wait 20 spins before betting on it. This is known as fallacy though and doesn’t alter the odds of the game.
Strategy 2 – The problem with the above strategy is that you aren’t covering a large enough portion of the table so you get lots of losses. If you want to cover more of the table, you can bet on 2 Dozens at the same time instead. This is the progression that you would need to use:
1 – 3 – 9 – 27 – 81 – 243
As you can see, the numbers soon get very big and that’s because you need to times your bets by three after every loss (x3). The upside to this is that you’re covering just less than 2/3 of the table and you will get more wins than losses.
But with a steep progression like that, it only takes a few losses in a row to give you a big loss that is hard to recover from. As with the first system, some players try ideas such as waiting until the same Dozen has hit three times in a row and then bet on the other two, but this again is fallacy and doesn’t change the odds of the game.
Strategy For Playing Roulette
No matter what strategy you use, you should set yourself a stop loss and target win and stick to it. For example, with the first strategy above, if you decide that you’re going to walk away if you lose the 47 bet, walk away rather than chasing losses.
